Balance Scales Modeled for the Scene with my Ariel Model
As seen in the opening cinematic for Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, these scales were lit on fire magically by Ariel, the Balance Guardian, right before she was murdered. I recreated that scene with Ariel, now these are the scales closer. I used one of the chain IMM brushes in ZBrush to speed that part along, but the hooks and other connecting loops I added, modeled to references of medieval cauldrons and how they are pieced together.
Balance scale lit. Just some regular morphed bit of geometry in the center for flames, which do a decent job of selling it in the lighting.

The scales unlit with the glowing red-hot stuff inside. In Blood Omen whatever it was, was red.
